Have you ever felt like your business owns you instead of the other way around? "Making Money is Killing Your Business" is a new philosophy for re-writing the rules so you do not become a slave to your business. Arnel Tanyag, managing partner of Tanyag & Company, will show us how to build a mature business where you are not the sole producer of income. According to the Small Business Administration, 50% of small businesses fail in their first five years and 2/3s are no longer operating after 10 years. Too many business owners are quietly desperate and trying to survive. Join NAWBO SEVA as we learn vital strategies to make our businesses thrive.
A native of Virginia Beach, VA, Arnel Tanyag graduated from Old Dominion University (ODU) in 1997 with a B.S. in Nursing. During his studies at ODU, he fulfilled his U.S. Naval Reserve commitment by serving as an 8404 Hospital Corpsman with a local U.S. Marine Corps amphibious assault unit. Upon graduating from ODU, Arnel worked as a registered nurse with Sentara Healthcare from 1997- 2000. Having a natural interest and passion for the business world, Arnel took a business course titled "Being in Business and Having it All" by a professional business coach, Rick Corbin. This experience led Arnel to leave the nursing field and take a full-time position with BNI International as its Southeastern Virginia Area Director. During his tenure as BNI’s Area Director, Arnel managed twenty-eight BNI chapters totaling over 600 members from 1997 through 2004. Through his experience as a BNI area director, Arnel mastered the art of "getting in the trenches" with his clients, helping hundreds of small business owners become "Rainmakers." In 2005, Arnel left BNI and became one of the first franchisees of Team Nimbus, a business advisory and consulting firm. In May 2008, he left and started his own company with a friend, Drescher & Tanyag; in April 2011, he went solo and started Tanyag & Company. |
